Smart Home Care for Aging Parents
Make your parents' home
safer and simpler.
We install, configure, and support smart home technology so your loved ones can age safely in the home they love. You get peace of mind — they keep their independence.
Serving Greater Los Angeles & Metro Detroit
The reality
You worry about them.
They don't want to worry you.
Your parents are fiercely independent. But you've noticed the little things — a missed medication, a stumble in the dark hallway, the front door left unlocked. You live with a low hum of worry that something could happen when no one's around.
Smart home technology can close that gap. But who has time to research dozens of devices, figure out compatibility, install everything, and then teach your parents how to use it?
That's exactly what we do.
How it works
Three steps to a safer home
No jargon, no guesswork. We handle everything from start to finish.
Free Home Consultation
We visit your parent's home, assess their specific needs — mobility, memory, security, daily routine — and create a personalized technology plan. Takes 1-2 hours, no obligation.
Expert Installation
Our specialists install and configure every device. We test everything, set up voice commands, create simple routines, and train your parents in person until they're comfortable.
Ongoing Support
We don't disappear after install. With our support plans, your parents have someone to call when Alexa won't listen, the camera goes offline, or they just need a refresher.

No surprise costs
What you'll actually pay each month
Some smart home devices have optional manufacturer subscriptions. We believe you should know about every dollar before you commit — not after.
No subscription needed
- Smart thermostats — fully functional, no fees
- Smart locks & keypads — works locally, no cloud required
- Motion sensors & door sensors — included in your hub
- Smart plugs & lights — free to control forever
- Basic Alexa voice commands — free with any Echo device
Optional manufacturer subscriptions
- Ring Protect — $4.99/mo (1 camera) or $9.99/mo (all cameras) for video history and playback
- Google Nest Aware — $10–$20/mo for video recording history (if using Nest cameras)
- Alexa+ (enhanced AI features) — free with Amazon Prime ($14.99/mo), or $19.99/mo standalone. Basic Alexa works fine without it
These are manufacturer fees, not Everwise charges. We'll explain exactly which subscriptions apply to your setup during the free consultation — and help you choose the most cost-effective options.
Between our installation package, your chosen support plan, and any applicable device subscriptions, most families pay $30–$60/month total in ongoing costs. No surprises, no hidden fees.
From families like yours
Peace of mind is priceless
"My mom lives alone in Palos Verdes and I'm in San Francisco. Everwise set up cameras, a smart lock, and motion lights so I can check in anytime. Mom loves her Alexa — she video calls me every morning. For the first time in years, I don't lie awake worrying."
"We were skeptical our dad would use any of this technology. The Everwise team was so patient — they trained him three separate times and even called him the next week to check in. Now he asks Alexa for the weather every morning and locks his door with his voice at night."
"After my mother's fall last year, we knew something had to change. Everwise installed motion sensors that turn on pathway lights automatically at night and a camera so we can see if she's up and moving. It's not intrusive — it's just smart."
Common questions
We get asked these a lot
My parent isn't tech-savvy at all. Will this actually work?
Absolutely. We design every setup around simplicity. Most of what we install works automatically — lights turn on when they walk into a room, doors lock at bedtime, reminders play through a speaker. For anything that requires interaction, we use voice commands (no apps or screens to learn) and train your parent in person, at their pace, as many times as needed.
How is this different from just buying Ring cameras and Alexa myself?
You could — and many families try. The difference is integration and support. We don't just install individual gadgets; we create a connected system where devices work together (motion triggers lights, door sensors send you alerts, routines run automatically). More importantly, when something breaks or your parent gets confused, they call us — not you at 10pm on a Tuesday.
Is this like a medical alert system?
It's more comprehensive. Medical alert pendants only help after something goes wrong. Our approach is proactive — automated lighting prevents falls, motion sensors detect unusual patterns, and smart locks ensure security. We can integrate with medical alert devices too, but the goal is to prevent problems before they happen.
What if my parent doesn't want to feel "watched"?
We hear this concern often, and we take privacy very seriously. During the consultation, we work with both you and your parent to find the right balance. Many solutions are non-intrusive — motion sensors (not cameras) in hallways, door sensors that just log open/close, automated lighting that simply makes life easier. Cameras are only placed where your parent is comfortable, often just at the front door.
What area do you serve?
We serve two metro areas. In Greater Los Angeles, we cover Palos Verdes, the South Bay, Beach Cities, Long Beach, Pasadena, and parts of Orange County. In Metro Detroit, we cover Detroit, Ann Arbor, Troy, Royal Oak, Dearborn, and the surrounding suburbs. If you're not sure whether your parent's location is covered, just ask.
Are there hidden subscription costs I should know about?
We're completely transparent about costs. Some devices — like Ring cameras and Nest cameras — have optional manufacturer subscriptions ($5–$20/month) for features like video playback history. Many devices (locks, sensors, lights, thermostats, plugs) have no subscription at all. During your free consultation, we'll map out exactly which devices have ongoing costs and which don't, so you know the full picture before committing. We also help families choose the most cost-effective combination of devices.
How long does installation take?
A typical Safety Starter installation takes about half a day. Home Guardian and Complete Care packages usually take a full day. We schedule at your parent's convenience and work cleanly — no mess, no holes in the walls. We test everything before we leave and make sure your parent is comfortable using it.
